Adobe Takes Digital Publishing to New Levels

Adobe is taking mobile app creation to a brand-new level with the launch of Adobe Digital Publishing Solution 2015. Senior Editor Cary Sherburne spoke with Adobe’s Bridget Roman and Colin Fleming to learn more.

Last spring, we provided a sneak peek into Adobe Publish, the next iteration of digital publishing capability from Adobe. The product has now been formally announced as Adobe Digital Publishing Solution. We chatted with Adobe’s Bridget Roman, Senior Product Marketing Manager for DPS, and Colin Fleming, Worldwide Digital Publishing Evangelist, to learn what this means for publishers and consumers of content.

“For the first time, content publishers can provide truly engaging mobile experiences for content consumers without the need for any coding,” Roman said. “DPS 2015 enables marketers and designers, who know their brand and know what their audiences are looking for, to create and update their own mobile apps without having to use IT resources. And it is an enterprise grade solution.”

Melissa Webster, IDC’s Program Vice President for Content & Digital Media Technologies, commented, “If you think about the history of software, market after market is born when vendors figure out a way to put tools in the hands of users so they don’t have to go to custom development to get the job done. ERP systems are a good example of that. With DPS 2015, that’s exactly what Adobe has done. That is a really huge shift, and it underscores just how important mobile devices have become for people consuming content. In this new release, Adobe has not only made it easier for marketers and designers to build these experiences themselves and keep them up to date, but it also enables them to provide beautiful and engaging experiences that don’t require a long development effort with programmers to accomplish it.
