Interview with Kevin Cushing on Alliance Franchise Brands, Franchising and More

Our readers may remember that recently, Alliance Franchise Brands (parent company of Allegra Network) announced that Kevin Cushing, formerly CEO of AlphaGraphics and WhatTheyThink’s Print CEO of the Year in 2011, has accepted the position as President of the Marketing & Print Division. Senior Editor Cary Sherburne spoke with him to learn why and what he hopes to achieve in his new role.

WTT: Kevin, congratulations on your new role. What was it that attracted you to Alliance Franchise Brands?

KC: I love franchising and have always been grateful for how it provides business opportunities for people. I wanted to stay in the franchising business, and of course, I was familiar with the folks at Alliance Franchise Brands. I have always liked being able to attach a higher meaning to the work I do, even as a child. If I didn’t do my job as a newsboy bringing people the news of the world, I felt like they wouldn’t know what was going on. In this position, I believe I can combine a sense of purpose with the vision, intelligence and integrity of the ownership/leadership team to enhance the value of the businesses we serve.
