Larry Vaughn is founder and president of Ideal Printers, Inc. located in Houston, Texas. Ideal Printers is a commercial print company that began in 1986. Since Ideal’s inception, the company has grown to over 80 employees and created a strong niche in the medical community as well as expanding to other markets. As president, Larry stays involved in the day-to-day management of Ideal and directly manages the sales and marketing teams. Ideal offers an array of services: design, typesetting, off-set and digital print, large format, bindery, kitting and fulfillment, as well as warehousing and distribution.

WTT: How would you describe pricing in your market?

LV: The biggest challenge Ideal faces is pricing competition. We strive to become partners with our customers rather than just another print provider.  In doing so, we are able to bring an added value that goes beyond bringing in the lowest bid.  In addition, technology is constantly changing in today’s market and it is often a struggle to stay on top of this evolving technology that allows us to bring the best product to our customer. Our biggest opportunities are in the digital and large format fields. Signage products are a growing market for Ideal.
