Zenger Group: A Successful Disrupter

Since its founding in 1980, Buffalo-based Zenger Group has a history of innovation. Today, the company is an expert in personalized communications and runs a highly efficient operation. Senior Editor Cary Sherburne speaks with Steve Zenger for an inside peek.

Zenger Group came to our attention when we were doing some research on personalized printing. The family-owned company, based in Buffalo, New York, has a history of innovation, dating back to its founding in 1980. Here’s what President & CEO Steve Zenger has to say about Zenger Group and the industry in general.

WTT: Steve, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Perhaps we could start with some company background.

SZ: My late father and my late brother founded the business in 1980 as a small corner copy shop called Parkside Press in Buffalo. At the peak of family involvement, the business included my father, all six brothers and my sister. Now we have 106 employees and three plants, including our 127,000 square foot headquarters we moved into last year. Our platform is robust with offset and digital printing, comprehensive bindery and full service mail processing capabilities. Last year, we purchased a new Heidelberg XL106 8-color perfector.
