12 months ago, Gavin Jordan-Smith joined Konica Minolta as Vice President for Solutions and Production Planning, managing a team of talented people responsible for developing the strategic direction to grow Konica Minolta’s production print and solutions business. Jordan-Smith leads a cross-functional team of professionals, leveraging Konica Minolta’s technology. Those in the industry who know Jordan-Smith from previous engagements at Toppan Printing Company Ltd. and Xerox Corporation know him as a highly energetic and innovative businessman who has a clear grasp of emerging market trends.  He brings this persona to his work at Konica Minolta with very interesting results.

WTT:  Gavin, why don’t you start by sharing with us what you have been doing in your first 12 months at Konica Minolta.

GJS:  To be quite frank, we are having fun. It’s always the case when seeing growth and launching new products and services.  And most importantly, customers are buying the value we bring to them; meaning Konica Minolta is solving our customers’ problems. The way I would describe it is that we are innovating and developing the “Vectors of Differentiation” which in turn deliver sustainable growth first for our customers and as a result of our customers’ success, for Konica Minolta.
