AlphaGraphics Acquired by Blackstreet Capital

Now that the dust has settled a little on the acquisition of AlphaGraphics (AGI) by Blackstreet Capital and CEO Kevin Cushing’s unexpected departure, Art Coley, AlphaGraphics’ Interim President, talks to WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne about the AGI perspective, future prospects and franchisee reaction.

In January, WhatTheyThink reported on initial reaction to the acquisition of franchisor AlphaGraphics by Blackstreet Capital in an interview with then-CEO Kevin Cushing as well as his unexpected departure from the company. Then one year later, in July of 2011, you have the news of the Pindar bankruptcy, and AlphaGraphics being taken over by the UK courts and administered by KPMG. That was pretty big news and caused even more uncertainty and doubt. The reactions over the events in January have been more muted, especially as franchisees realize that the uncertainty, especially relative to any financial instability, has ended.
