Peter Williams Discusses Ricoh’s European Business

Following its acquisition of IKON and the incorporation of InfoPrint Solutions (formerly a joint venture between IBM and Ricoh) into its organization, Ricoh has significantly increased its footprint, particularly in the production printing space. WhatTheyThink spoke with Peter Williams, Executive Vice President, Ricoh Europe, to see how things are going for the firm in Europe post-IPEX. Williams was also interviewed on video by WhatTheyThink Contributor Andy Tribute at IPEX.

WTT: Peter, perhaps you could start by giving us a little background on your role at Ricoh Europe and how you are organized.

PW: Ricoh has a major initiative in place to develop its production print business and to be a leading force in that area. We are doing that through acquisitions, organic growth and product development. To that end, each region has a Production Printing Business Group. I am responsible for the European component of that and also a member of the Ricoh Europe Board. You will also remember that Danka Infotec was acquired by Ricoh. I ran Danka Europe, and we had a disproportionate amount of revenue in production print, so I have a background in both production printing and in office printing.
