Four51's CEO Promotes the Power of Commerce on Demand

Four51, a hosted print "commerce on demand" firm whose heritage was the forms industry, announced the appointment of appointment of Mark D. Johnson as Chief Executive Officer last month. The company has been operating somewhat under the radar, but seems to be gaining steam in the mainstream printing industry, counting AlphaGraphics, Cenveo, Workflow One, Standard Register and Sir Speedy among its clientele. The Four51 name comes from the temperature at which paper burns, 451 degrees Fahrenheit, and the company certainly seems to be burning up the e-commerce space as it continues to grow. WhatTheyThink spoke with Johnson to get his perspective on the company, and the industry at large.

We have over 6,100 end user companies utilizing our network day to day and over 350,000 end users who are part of those 6,100 companies. We also have over 800 subscribers that are either distributors or printers, and close to 1,500 trade printers connected to the network that our distributors send orders to.
