Thursday, March 30, 2006

Since EFI acquired Printcafe and its Connect user group, Connect has grown into one of the largest and most successful user groups in our industry. Both attendance and scope have expanded under EFI’s leadership. Connect 2006 is slated to take place from April 30th through May 3rd, 2006, at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. WhatTheyThink spoke with Marc Olin, EFI’s vice president–general manager, to get an update on what Connect attendees can expect this year.

WTT: Marc, thanks for speaking with us today. With Connect 06 approaching, I wanted to get your perspective on the conference and get caught up on what is new at EFI. Looks like you have an exciting agenda planned.

MO: This year’s theme is Expand your Opportunities. This is our first opportunity to showcase a lot of the newest technology that EFI has available. There will be more focus on Fiery and VUTEk this year than in the past, both of which are areas we see as growth opportunities for our commercial print customers. There will also be more significant VDP tracks, and with the recent XMPie reseller announcement, more XMPie presence. We see Manhattan Associates for warehouse management as a growth opportunity for clients, and that will be represented as well. With this year’s conference, we are working to educate our client base on how EFI can expand their businesses through the deployment of EFI technologies and our partner products.
