The company's eCommerce Solutions automate and streamline the print procurement and management process for both print buyers and suppliers. httprint's Professional Services team analyzes a company's overall print spending and recommends process improvements that typically save 20 percent to 40 percent in costs. httprint's Print Management team provides outsourcing and other solutions for all aspects of print production and fulfillment on a project, either part- or full-time. ikm (integrated knowledge management), httprint's full-service promotional marketing agency, offers clients strategic development and execution of promotional programs. httprint has its roots in Landmark Productions, a brick and mortar print production company that was renamed httprint in January 2000. Landmark Productions built a solid reputation in the print industry by serving companies that lacked the resources, time, or expertise to manage print jobs themselves. Most of the services httprint provided in the bricks-and-mortar world are now available on the Web at www.httprint.com. Headquartered in San Francisco, httprint currently has offices in several locations throughout the United States and Europe. Tell our subscribers about the technology that powers httprint. The httprint application is built on an industry standard technology platform. We use a distributed object architecture based on EJBs running in the BEA Systems Weblogic Application Server. We use Oracle 8i as our RDBMS. The presentation layer, which is distinctly separate from the application and business logic layer, utilizes JSP technology to generate dynamic HTML. Clustering technology is used for fail over and load balancing. Explain your ASP pricing model. There are three components to our ASP pricing. There is an upfront licensing fee and there is a monthly subscription charge. Moreover, since our offering is geared more as a consulting sale rather than a typical software product sale, there is a consulting revenue stream. An example of this is when we assist our Fortune 2000 clients with strategic sourcing, etc. As other CTO's evaluate their future and look for automation, what can you say to these people in this slow period? While we are confident that our value proposition is very attractive with a significant ROI, the current economic conditions have caused a slow down in the adoption rate. Our biggest challenge is to manage our cash and revenues in this slow market and ensure that we are around when the markets turn. For CTO’s, the slow market provides a great opportunity to tackle some of the internal issues that get pushed out due to client commitments. We have been using some of this time to fine-tune our application and set some internal processes in place. It also gives you an opportunity to study some of the emerging technologies and gauge their impact on your business. What is so great about the KBA deal that has gotten so much attention recently? KBA is one of the largest printing-press manufacturers in the world. httprint is providing an Internet-based operating system for KBA’s digital printing presses. Our solution will be bundled with every KBA press that is sold. This means that printers operating KBA presses will be able to minimize the time between print jobs and allow their customers to place print orders and send digital files directly to their presses via the Internet. The result is a cost-effective, practical, faster and more efficient print management process. You have or will acquire Cirqit. What integration strategies and savings do you see here? Acquisitions are a part of our growth strategy, but nothing pertaining to Cirqit has been officially announced yet. We’ll be happy to talk with you when we have official news. Many perceive ikm as a glorified ad agency. What's the technology behind ikm? Ikm is actually an internal user of our product and technology. They use it to manage some of their print production jobs. They have also been actively pitching this solution to their clients. Mark Porter (CEO) said you would be profitable this quarter - any changes there with the acquisitions and other investments? We are still on track and look to be profitable before the end of the year.
