Epson SureColor G9070 Raises the Bar on Direct-to-Film Printing

At the Impressions Expo in Long Beach CA, Epson announced an addition to its G-Series family of Direct-to-Film printers, the SureColor® G9070. WhatTheyThink spoke with product manager Paul Morales to get all the details.

Epson has launched the second member of its dedicated Direct-to-Film printer series. The SureColor G9070 joins the SureColor G6070 in the company’s G-Series portfolio.

According to Paul G. Morales, Product Manager at Epson, whose focus is Direct-to-Film (DTFilm) and Direct-to-Garment (DTG) product lines, “The new SureColor G9070 uses the same ink set as our existing SureColor G6070, CMYK plus white. It is a 64-inch-wide Direct-to-Film printer with an estimated MSRP of $24,995.”

The printer can operate at up to 350 square feet per hour and has the ability to print twin rolls of varying widths in parallel. Customers can acquire shakers, powder, film, heat presses, and other ancillary equipment that may be required from their dealers in a variety of configurations, depending on their requirements and preferences. The printer ships with Fiery Digital Factory as well as Epson proprietary software.
