Quantum Leaps into Landa

Last week, Morton Grove, Ill.’s Quantum Group and the executive team from Landa Digital held an open house to demonstrate the recently installed Landa Nanographic S10P—and how Quantum Group is starting to shift work from their fleet of digital and offset presses to the S10P.

It was, almost quite literally, a trial by fire.

When Quantum Group installed the Landa Nanographic S10P in November 2022, the initial plan had been to shift some work from the company’s digital presses and short run offset work. Redundancy for the three Heidelberg Speedmasters was not a major consideration for the Landa. But when their 8 color UV press went down, they needed a workaround. Planned offset jobs were sent to the Landa—with impressive and surprising results from both a performance and quality standpoint. Customers either never noticed any difference or, when they did, responded positively. “We received a compliment from one customer who wondered what we did differently,” said Cheryl Kahanec, CEO of Quantum Group—and asked them to keep doing it. “The surprise,” she added, “was how well the transition went and how well our team very much embraced it.”

And thus more offset work was shifted to the S10P.
