In a recent timely and informative webinar, WTIN discussed the impact of COVID-19 on the future of innovation in textiles and apparel. This session is well worth watching for anyone interested in the industry and its future. Here are some of the key takeaways I saw in the program. The program was presented by Mark Jarvis, Managing Director.

In most of the presentations and/or articles about the industry I have recently perused, the overarching message that comes through is that, while the industry has had on its radar the need to dramatically revamp its global supply chain and implement more sustainable practices, pursuit of these plans has been a bit lackadaisical among many. Maybe we can get this done in three, four, five years out. But the pandemic has shone a light on a need for more urgent pursuit of these objectives. That was front and center in the WTIN webinar as well.
