The 'Third Leg", as you put it, is solutions. As important a role that technology plays, the solutions facilitate getting the client's work into the shop. This the weakest link in many shops that adopt a newer technology. Articulating the value proposition needs to be supported by the workflow that allows easy file submission, online proofing and progress notifications.
