Cheryl Kahanec, President of Marketing Solutions at EarthColor, talks with Senior Editor Cary Sherburne about the progress that has been made in production inkjet technology since the first "inkjet drupa" in 2008, calling drupa 2016 the inkjet drupa on steroids. The challenge now is working the economics -- balancing toner, inkjet and offset.

Having read "The Inkjet Edge" How to transition your business to Inkjet by Canon/think, I found this video insightful. The comments by Ms. Kahanec regarding offset economics and color gamuts were eye opening. The trade off between high end results that offset presses provide and what inkjet presses can produce sound significant. At a higher price for inkjet so indicated, several clients are opting for inkjet for what? Speed the ability to change up the message. Seems unclear but in today's fast lane I guess its the timeliness and not the quality of the result that wins the day eh?
