Hi Dave,
Interesting discussion. Does the Rutherford system use ink densities or spectral data as the basis for measurement / preset adjustment? I'm wondering if the process will only help stabilize ink thickness across the web or sheet but not sure if there is any contribution to G7 Gray Balance, G7 Targeted, or G7 Color Space compliance.

Rutherford everyday's job is connect console for web press and sheetfed press. We build both Hardware and software.
The CIP3 optimization is focused on keys positions depending of the ink coverage.
The Closed loop software is linked with a measurement device such as X-RITE IntelliTrax. It helps printers to stabilize the runs.
If you need any contributions for G7 or PSO, you will find that in X-RITE software for example.
Some of our resellers are G7/PSA or PSO/Ugra expert. So that they could help the printers to be independent on ISO norm, reduce their waste with the best CIP3 ever with IntelliSET and stabilize the run with IntelliLOOP and X-RITE device for example.
Hope this will help...
