Frank is on a sugar high from Cracker Jack, or in this case, Cracker Jill. He traces the history of the prizes from metal to plastic to paper to virtual. He bemoans the fact that the prizes are being discontinued and users will be directed to a website.

Frank, as you’ll surely recall, one of the coolest Cracker Jack prizes were the lenticular printed pieces.
I was always fascinated by these little, probably 1” square, mystery boards with ribbed plastic glued to them, that would change pictures as you angled them.
It was one of the experiences that endeared me to the endless potential of printing and the graphic arts, at an early age.

Even more amazing, looking up “Cracker Jack lenticular card”, I see on ebay that in the 1950s, Cracker Jack’s marketers actually produced a completely clear lenticular (apparently, no opaque backer). ebay.com/itm/225482302052
To a kid, it’s surely gem-like. I’ve never seen lenticular without a backing cardboard, and I dare say that’s revolutionary then and today.
