Since the Museum of Printing in Haverhill, Mass., is, at present, closed to visitors, Frank is showcasing some highlights of the Museum’s collection. This week, Frank explores the Museum’s collection of miniature books including what Frank contends is the smallest book in the world. Smaller than a Tic Tac, it was bought at the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany.

Hah! Gulliver's Travels is a creative use of the form! I have several Buddhist daily affirmation type books that are about this size. Cool collection.

Frank: Wonderful presentation on small books. My wife and I also collect small books but nothing as old as what you have in your museum. We go back to the 1950's as our oldest book and I think it was printed via letterpress. We have some reprints of old books purchased at the print shop in Colonial Williamsburg. I have spent many days at that print shop watching everything.
I spent one of the better days of my life in the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany and loved every aspect of their displays. They covered bookbinding very nicely at that museum. I bought lots of their hand cast type characters and did not see the smallest book in the world or I would have bought one too. Keep up the great videos from your museum.
