Print Competitors Come Together

Press release from the issuing company

Minneapolis, Minn. – Two longtime competitors are joining efforts now that Soulo Communications acquired Commers Printing in Blaine.

The two companies have a long history of friendly competition, dating back to when they were located just down the road from one another. Soulo Communications was founded as RJM Printing in 1997 and renamed in December 2016. The company has grown organically and through acquisition; the latest is owner Bob Molacek’s 18 th df corporate acquisition.

Joe Commers, owner and account manager for Commers Printing, says he is “Excited to go forward with this new adventure,” and will join Commers Printing in their new home at Soulo. Commers founded his company with his brothers, Steve and Tom, in 1984. They will be retiring following the acquisition.

Reflecting on a long history marked by healthy competition and mutual respect, Molacek described an instance where the cutting machine at his shop was broken and the Commers brothers allowed him to use theirs for a rush print order. “This will be the same kind of collaboration, with great people providing great services,” says Molacek. “But now we’re all on the same team!”

Soulo Communications is a Minneapolis-based creative production agency with capabilities in marketing, printing, signs, and technical writing. Bob Molacek founded RJM Printing in 1997 and rebranded to Soulo Communications in December 2016.
