Influence Graphics (New York), has announced the purchase and installation of the Konica KM1 Digital Press. The purchase of the new press coincided with a move of Influence Graphics entire production facility into an expanded and modernized 25,000 sq. ft. space in Long Island City, NY. The KM1 press boasts the largest sheet size (23”x29”) of any digital press with a speed of over 3,000 sheets per hour and a resolution of 1200x1200 DPI. The press does not require specially coated paper stocks and is capable of printing on substrates up to 21pt. thick. The KM1 utilizes UV inks that are dried instantly by LED UV lamps and are less prone to scuffing than some other digital press inks.

"We will be the only commercial printer in the New York City metro area with this advanced press," says Ron Sizemore, a partner at Influence Graphics. “The sheet size of this new press allows us to print 6 up 8.5”x11” sheets in one pass with twice the speed of our existing equipment. Given that a majority of our customers’ projects require very fast turnaround, the new KM1 press will enable Influence Graphics to meet even the tightest deadlines. In addition, the larger sheet size will allow us to capture some print work that historically had to be done on an offset press. The KM1 complements IG’s existing HP Indigo 7800 press and in tandem these two presses offer our customers the most sophisticated digital printing technology available today.”
