Awards of Excellence winners announced

Southborough, Mass. – Daniel Dejan, Print & Creative Manager at Sappi North America, will receive PINE’s highest honor, the Industry Influencer Award, at the association’s annual Industry Awards Gala, on Tuesday, April 10 at Mechanics Hall, Worcester, MA.

The Industry Influencer Award, sponsored by Heidelberg since 2003, honors the contributions of an individual whose vision and energy have impacted our industry in a profound and indelible way. It recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit and foresight to create new business models, develop market shifting technologies and improve our industry in a permanent and sustained manner.

“PINE is extremely pleased to present our highest honor to an industry icon, Daniel Dejan,” said Christine Hagopian, President of PINE. “He has helped solidify the importance of quality design, the integral role of paper and their direct correlation to outstanding printing. He is truly a worthy recipient of our most prestigious accolade.”

Winners of PINE’s Awards of Excellence competition will also be announced. The premier graphic arts competition acknowledges and honors superb craftsmanship in the creation, design, and production of top quality printed materials. In the Student Awards division, students from both graphic arts high schools and secondary schools will be presented with awards.

The Pinnacle Award signifies that the winning entry was the very best in a particular category. Entries that earn a Pinnacle Award will be entered in the Printing Industries of America (PIA) 2018 Premier Print Awards competition, the largest international competitive print awards competition. Second place Awards of Recognition and third place Awards of Merit will also be announced. Attendees will vote for their favorite piece to select the People’s Choice Award and the highly anticipated Best of Show winner will be presented at the end of the evening.

The Industry Awards Gala is an evening of networking which draws more than 300 industry executives, featuring a display of the winning entries and vendors showcasing their products and services. Repeating the success of 2017, the Student Awards presentation will take place at 4:30 p.m. with the Gala running in a reception format from 5 – 9 p.m.
