Press release from the issuing company
Roland DG announces details of an exciting collaboration with leading surface pattern designer, Rachael Taylor at FESPA, Amsterdam. Visitors to the Textile and Personalisation Zones on the Roland DG booth (Hall 1 E120) will see how easily and effectively eye-catching designs, such as those by Rachael Taylor, can be transformed into highly profitable applications using Roland wide format digital print technology.
Visitors will have the chance to take home show bags produced with Roland’s Texart dye sublimation transfer range and phone cases printed on the VersaUV series of LED UV inkjet flatbed printers, all featuring exclusive Rachael Taylor artwork.
This joint initiative seeks to raise awareness among print service providers of the ways in which forging relationships with designers, and advising them on how to design-for-print, can be of considerable commercial benefit to them.
Gillian Montanaro, Head of Marketing EMEA: ‘We are really excited to be collaborating with Rachael Taylor at FESPA. We always strive to help our customers get the best return on investment from their Roland technology and discover profitable new revenue streams. Our aim here is to inspire and educate customers about the fantastic business potential offered by working more closely with designers.’
Rachael Taylor, whose designs are featured on fashion, home décor, gadgets, ceramics, greetings and stationery around the world, is also co-founder of Make it in Design and The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design; a ground-breaking e-course for budding surface pattern designers.
Research undertaken by Make it in Design suggests that printing and manufacturing is a key area designers feel they need much more support in. With so many technologies, print providers and options available to them, designers feel unsure as to who best to turn to for their individual requirements, what questions they should be asking and what to look for in a great printing partner.
Gillian Montanaro: ‘It’s clear there is a gap in the market for print providers who are able to engage with designers, understand their needs and provide effective solutions. Designers are often seen as experts and consulted by brands and other specifiers for advice on which print company or technology to use. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the Roland DG booth and discussing in more detail how building strong relationships with designers in this way can be of mutual benefit. Rachael’s stunning designs will also be a colourful feature on the Roland DG booth. ’
Speaking about the collaboration, Rachael Taylor comments: ‘I am extremely thrilled to be working with Roland DG. Their innovative printing systems are helping many designers and companies to deliver extraordinary results and amazing quality products worldwide. It is an absolute pleasure to be working with such a creative global technology leader at the forefront of the digital print industry.’
FESPA Digital 2016 takes place from 8th – 11th March, Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
