Local inventory now offered for North American customers
Vienna - The international packaging and paper group Mondi is expanding its high-speed inkjet paper distribution in North America, with new warehouses in Dayton, Chicago and Los Angeles to complement its Midland distribution. These initiatives support Mondi’s strong focus on its customers’ needs by offering local inventory options in North America.
“Since Mondi entered the US market with its high-speed inkjet papers at Print 13, we have steadily gained customers and recognition for the strong performance of our papers,” says Daniel Herzka, exclusive agent for Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper in North America.
Mondi’s high-speed inkjet portfolio 2.0 has been further developed and optimized so that it brings a number of benefits to printers and end-users. The larger color gamut in critical areas, such as red, compensates the magenta weakness of current high-speed inkjet systems and enables improved accuracy for printing logos and images. The increased color gamut also results in potential ink savings for printers compared to a standard treated paper, reducing costs and increasing printers’ competitiveness on the market.
Mondi’s new fully treated high-speed inkjet grades offer trouble-free duplex printing due to the increased opacity (non-see-through). In the case of DNS® high-speed inkjet the opacity of 80 g/m² (21 lb bond) is now equal to the current standard of 100 g/m² (27 lb bond). No reel joins are guaranteed for flawless runability and optimal productivity of high-speed inkjet equipment.
The high-speed inkjet 2.0 portfolio features new basis weights of 40.5 lb text, 47.25 lb text and up to 60 lb cover (7pt) and 85 lb cover (9pt), enabling printers to take their equipment to new areas of print applications, such as direct mail postcards, catalogues and flyers. In addition, Mondi’s DNS® high-speed inkjet CF paper has been recognised as “good” deinkable according to INGEDE test method 11 (in combination with Canon Océ pigment inks). DNS® premium has also been successfully tested for deinkability.
“Mondi has really listened to the needs of its customers in North America and identified the current short-comings of the high-speed inkjet technology, such as insufficient red color gamut or the strong competition by offset print jobs. As a result, we are now offering optimized Mondi high-speed inkjet paper grades also in North America. Our growing US customer base will enjoy more colors, more potential savings, more productivity and improved availability of our grades in the United States,” said Johannes Klumpp, Marketing & Sales Director, Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper.
Mondi will participate this year at the Graph Expo 2014 in Chicago from September 28th – October 1st 2014 at booth# 2353.
