Cisco IBSG Horizons Study, May 2012 To accommodate the explosion of smartphone, tablet and other mobile device use in the workplace, Xerox DocuShare^®, a Xerox enterprise content management (ECM) offering focused on content management and business workflows, introduces DocuShare Mobile, an offering that allows its existing customers the ability to edit, search and share business content in DocuShare from a mobile device. 

Mobile workers can access a DocuShare ECM repository securely from their mobile device to search, view and download documents, or share content as part of a business process. Owners of iOS devices will be the first to enjoy this great new offering on both their iPhones and iPads. DocuShare plans to provide an Android offering in the future.

“Business activities increasingly take place outside the four walls of a company’s office, and around the clock,” said Brian Lincoln, senior product line manager, Xerox DocuShare. “Our customers have confirmed that the ability to tap into their documents in DocuShare from a mobile device, anywhere and anytime, dramatically improves their efficiency.” This is validated by Gartner who predicts that by 2015 more than half of workers will access their content from a mobile device. With the Xerox Mobile Client for DocuShare feature people can use their phone or tablet to capture images, meeting notes and business documents. They can then easily share them with colleagues, or publish them to a secure DocuShare website. Mobile workers also have the option to print documents from DocuShare, with Xerox Mobile Client for DocuShare, when they have an email-based print solution such as Xerox Mobile Print or Xerox Mobile Print Cloud installed on their DocuShare server.

Product Availability

The new Xerox Mobile Client for DocuShare will be available in the App store second-quarter of 2013. A future version on an Android client offering is planned.
