September 2022 shipments came in at $7.20 billion, up from August’s $7.17 billion. Shipments traditionally rebound in August as businesses prepare for back to work (and school) in the fall, and that tends to carry through to September. If regular seasonality has indeed returned—and last year (and even in 2020) it had—then we should expect a shipments peak in October before things slow down for the holidays.
January to September shipments for 2022 are at $61.86 billion, over 2021’s $60.93 billion. Things can certainly go very badly in the next few months, but so far shipments data for 2022 has been very encouraging and we are having a better year than 2021. Can we carry that through into 2023?
