A new web-based resource targeted at sustainability-minded packaging purchasers promises to cut through the clutter and hyperbole of green claims to help professional buyers achieve their sustainable packaging goals. The site,
www.greenpackaginggroup.com, is the brainchild of
Dennis Salazar, whose
Salazar Packaging (Plainfield, IL) offers a wide range of environmentally preferable custom packaging products and design services.
Four other companies known for their sustainability focused offerings have partnered with Salazar to launch the website:
- Nashville Wraps, a leader in sustainable packaging for the gift and retail packaging market;
- Eco Bags, a manufacturer of canvas and lightweight cotton reusable totes;
- Globe Guard Products, a purveyor of stock, recycled-content packaging products; and
- Distant Village, a leading supplier of environmentally and socially responsible, handmade, custom packaging.
According to Dennis Salazar,
greenpackaginggroup.com gives B2B customers access to the widest variety of green products and solutions available through a single internet site.
The nascent website incorporates a product index to help buyers locate products quickly and to connect with appropriate suppliers to meet their green packaging needs. The site also contains the beginnings of an informational reference blog that, according to Salazar, will have industry leaders contributing “what to use and how to use it” advise for the business community.
The site also includes a section containing links to additional green resources. Salazar expects that the number of featured companies and linked resources will grow over time as interest in the website builds.
Dennis Salazar says that he is really interested in hearing what B2B packaging buyers think of the site. So check it out and tell WhatTheyThink | Going Green what you think.
