MLP USA has announced that the company will not be exhibiting at Graph Expo 2010. MLP USA will instead pursue an alternative program this year for marketing to printers who either attend or don’t attend the show.
In a statement to WhatTheyThink, Marke Baker, president, MLP USA said “Our strategy for presenting Mitsubishi technology and meeting with press customers and prospects continues as in previous years. Even though MLP will not have booth on the show floor, we still plan to maintain a highly visible presence among printers during Graph Expo 2010.”
Heidelberg and Komori recently announced they are not exhibiting at Graph Expo 2010.

Why is not participating in a Expo such a headline item? When this is reported it is as if the industry is questioning the validity of the different marketing choice made.
There are many many companies who have never exhibited at an expo. Yet we do not question there choice of not participating in an expo. This is a marketing choice only or where is the most bang for the buck.
We have to get away from the obligatory pressure that is put on expo exhibition.
There are a very large group of expo junkies that think they need an expo fix every year of so. It is fun but not necessary.
