WhatTheyThink will be at the On Demand Conference & Expo next week, and we want to hear from you. We will be writing and shooting video interviews out of our show floor studio located at MR2653.
Stop by and let us know what you think: what brought you to On Demand, how are you surviving the downturn, what are your hot new applications, who did you pick to go to the Final Four — whatever is on your mind.

I visited On Demand/AIIM this week and was pleased to see less printers/hardware and more emphasis on workflow, software and services. In an economy where companies need to increase efficiency and cut costs quickly, relatively small investments in software (vs. new hardware) and employee training clearly will deliver 1) fast bottom line improvements and 2) prepare print shops to take market share by delivering more for less when the economy turns around. In other words, investments in workflow improvements, software and employee training are good for today and smart for tomorrow.

This OnDemand had a higher level of commitment to win from visitors than other OnDemand tradeshows I have attended. Not every one was in a survival mode, and comments from seminar attendees were more on "how do we prosper" instead of "how do we not loose our shirts" topics. Kodak not being there at the show, helped booths like Canon which was constantly filled with visitors. I came away from the show with a dedication to be there again next year.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the studio! We have lots of great interviews that you will soon be seeing on WhatTheyThink. We also had a great time getting to see some of our friends and meeting new ones!
Enjoyed it greatly. Look for us at Print 09!

Jeff Ostenso, President of Frank Gumpert Printing of Annapolis, Maryland and I were pleased with the turnout for our workshop: Negotiate For Success. He and I shared best practices on how to save money when negotiating equipment leases. Our workshop attendees seemed to be planning for improvements in the economy and they were doing their homework before investing.
The Mailing and Fulfillment Intensives organized by Mary Ann Bennett, The Bennett Group were exceptional.
Professor John Leininger of Clemson University was a hit with many using his Variable Cookie Demonstration (VCD) to explain VDP. As a non-technical person even I could grasp the concepts. Unfortunately I missed his wrap up when he served hot chocolate chip cookies and milk.
