Two weeks ago I pointed to a Forbes article on Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Planning Strategic Acquisitions. In today's industry news at WhatTheythink.com, Heidelberg announced that the company plans to acquire UK- and Netherlands-based Hi-Tech Coatings:
“By acquiring Hi-Tech Coatings, Heidelberg is pursuing its consistent strategy of expanding the range of services available to our customers,” stated Heidelberg CEO Bernhard Schreier. “Using high-performance consumables on our machines makes customers more efficient and enables us to achieve margins that are not tied to economic cycles,”
Their was speculation that Heidelberg may be interested in Agfa's graphic arts business unit in the comments of my last post on Heidelberg's acquisition strategy.
