The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership has announced the released an initial draft of guidelines for becoming a "sustainable, green printer" under the partnership's registration program:
Announced at the NEHS Conference general session on March 12, the criteria will guide printers on their journey toward sustainability. Printers who meet these requirements and are verified will be listed on the SGP Partnership registry website, which can be used as a resource for print buyers.
The daft guidelines can be downloaded from SGP's Website (Direct link to PDF). SPG is soliciting comments on the draft until April 18, 2008.
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership was established by PIA/GATF, SGIA, and FTA to provide independent third-party verification of sustainable practices in the printing industry.

We pay big bucks to be certified and you have to wonder how much is going to line the pockets of these certification conmpanies. We are a catalog printing company.
