The IDEAlliance Paper Print Predictability Task Force has annouced the avaiblity of a methodology for describing paper attributes and properties that affect printed color reproduction:
Digitizing the front end of printing technologies has created the need for additional information about the materials used throughout the process. Paper plays a vital role in image reproduction at both the proofing and printing stages as well as at the design stage. IDEAlliance formed a multi-discipline group called the Print Predictability Paper Task Force to represent the paper supply chain, study the problem and recommend a solution. The Task Force, supported by the working committees of IDEAlliance, now is recommending a solution to the paper characterization puzzle. The work of the Paper Print Predictability Task Force has been posted on the IDEAlliance Website for industry comment.
