Frank had a visit from Dr. Dov Isaacs, a 30-year veteran of Adobe and a frequent participant in international standards groups. He is probably the world expert on PostScript.

Frank's Fireside Chats?
By Alvaro Mantilla on May 10, 2024
it seems the audio on the video is not working. I can only listen to the introduction and conclusion "music", but I can't hear the interview...!

@Alvaro, Must be a problem on your end sir. Can't replicate that. Audio is not great due to the distance of the camera, but it is there!

Fireside Chat with Dr Dov Isaacs
By HARVEY LEVENSON on May 14, 2024
Dov Isaacs is part of Adobe‘s DNA, and will always be. The contribution that Dov made to Adobe, to the printing industry, and to the institution of communication in the broadest way is enormous. His contribution to Cal Poly when he served on its Graphic Communication advisory board for many years that I was privileged to serve the department was also tremendous. The students, faculty, and staff benefited from Dov Isaac’s wisdom.
Thank you, Dov.

Thanks everyone for all the attention ??!
However, to be very fair, I would hardly characterize myself as “the world expert” on either PostScript or PDF.
I would better characterize my expertise as being an expert in “end-to-end” publishing workflow, from the time one starts creating and integrating content (text and graphics) until the results either pixels are glowing on a screen, ink is drying on some substrate, or toner is cooling on some substrate. This workflow knowledge was critically important in providing me with inspiration to assist in the development of several PDF/X and PDF/VT standards over the years.
Not that I don't know my way around PostScript and PDF, but rather, I know enough about both to be not only dangerous, but to know what to look up, and as importantly, what experts (not just at Adobe, but around the world representing numerous organizations) to call upon for details that involve intimacy with PostScript, PDF, or both!
