After 46 years of service, Michael J. Terranova, MAXSON Vice President, is retiring effective 09 March 2020. He will continue as a member of the MAXSON Board of Directors.
Mike joined MAXSON in 1974 when he was hired to wire, assemble, and install sheeters. In 1982 he was promoted to Plant Superintendent. In this capacity he was responsible for scheduling and supervising MAXSON's machining and fabrication operations. He was elevated to the position of General Manager in 1992. In this role, the departments of Engineering, Machining, Assembly and Customer Service reported to him. In 1995, Mike was elected to the Board of Directors. In 2000, Mike was promoted to Company Vice President, with responsibility for Company profit and loss. In addition to the operational departments, the Financial, and Information Management Departments also reported to Mike.
Joseph F. Matthews, President of MAXSON comments:
"Mike has left his indelible print on this Company's past and path into the future. A dedicated and talented employee, Michael demonstrated initiative, creativity and problem solving from the first day. His friendly wit, team oriented approach and leadership qualities made him a natural choice to accept increasing levels of responsibility within the Company. Over the past 20 years, he has overseen the facility expansions, machinery modernization and information technology advancements that have provide the assets to compete as a global supplier in the sheeting equipment market. But of greater importance has been Mike's commitment to fairness in relationships with fellow employees, suppliers and Customers. He is a man of integrity and I am pleased that I can continue to rely on his counsel as a member of the Company's Board."
Matthews continues, "This retirement culminates in the 18 month plan to transition to the next generation of MAXSON's Management team. Ryan Tracey, MAXSON's Project Manager - who reported directly to Michael - is being promoted to Operations Manager. In this capacity, Engineering, Machining, Assembly and Customer Service will report to Ryan."
