CASO Document Management Reports a 400% Boost in Productivity with New Large Format Scanning Solution

Press release from the issuing company

Contex HD Ultra X scanner with Zero Turn workstation from National Azon is a game changer for high-volume scanning

Chantilly, Va. – Contex, the world leader in large format scanning, today announces that the large format scanning services offered by CASO Document Management are 400% faster with a new Contex scanning solution and workstation from National Azon. A client’s expedited back-file conversion project prompted CASO to implement a Contex HD Ultra X 60-inch large format scanner with a Zero Turn Scanning Productivity Center. The ergonomically designed scanning solution helped CASO staffers eliminate steps in the workflow, boosting scanning rates from 15 images per hour to as many as 77. The increased efficiency enabled CASO to complete the conversion project four months ahead of schedule.

“As efficient as we were before, we had a lot of waste in the scanning process until we started using the Contex and Zero Turn configuration. Shuffling drawings, keeping things stacked – for every three steps, that doubles the length of time in the scanning project,” comments Dylan Askinasi, assistant vice-president of operations at CASO. “We were blown away at how fast we could scan our clients large format documents with the Contex and Zero Turn configuration. It’s a game changer.”

“The Contex scanning solution with the Zero Turn workstation is a breakthrough in high-volume scanning. Our customers are able to process more documents than ever before, allowing them to expedite projects in a fraction of the time,” comments Steve Blanken, General Manager, Contex Americas.

The impressive speed of the Contex HD Ultra X scanner – 17.8 inches per second – means that it takes under three seconds to scan an A0-sized document. The scanner’s advanced software also helps CASO staffers shave time off the workflow with automated alignment and naming conventions.

The Zero Turn workstation is a single-footprint workstation designed exclusively for Contex scanners. The document handling system utilizes vertical space to achieve one-touch document handling. The Contex and Zero Turn solution significantly increases scanning throughput and profits, especially for high-volume projects.

CASO is a long-time Contex customer. The company offers clients on- and off-site scanning services, among other document management services. As its customers migrate to all-digital records, CASO is busy with large back-file conversions.

CASO plans to roll out the Contex large format scanning solution with Zero Turn to its satellite offices in San Antonio, Pittsburgh, and Reno. “We can now respond to more RFPs thanks to Contex’s large format scanning solution with Zero Turn,” comments Askinasi.
