International Paper Coated & SC Papers Division Integrate with Time Inc.
Press release from the issuing company
Memphis, Tenn., - April 15, 2002 - International Paper’s (NYSE: IP) Coated and SC Papers Division today announced that it has successfully integrated directly with Time Inc. for the system-to-system transmission of purchase orders, change orders, order acknowledgements and change order acknowledgements using the papiNET Extensible Markup Language (XML) standards.
This complete integration directly from the Coated and SC Paper Division’s internal system to Time Inc.’s paper management system and vice versa is the first step in transmitting a complete set of business process information using the papiNet messages between the two companies. Since December 3, 2001, International Paper’s Coated and SC Papers Division and Time Inc. have been directly transmitting purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements, change orders and change order acknowledgements directly from their internal systems, which allows the two companies to do business with each other seamlessly, without the need for either business to manually re-key information.
“This is a big step towards enabling both companies to do business with each other via direct, system-to-system integration,” said Mike Weinhold, Director of Marketing, Coated and SC Papers. “We are confident that this integration will streamline our business processes and drive efficiencies for both IP and Time Inc.”
