Rolling Meadows, Ill. – SCREEN’s magic number appears to have been 1500, as the industry’s leading, high-speed production inkjet press manufacturer reached that milestone achievement with the sale of the company’s 1500th Truepress Jet520 engine worldwide to new customer, Sarasota, Florida-based, Access Direct Mail.
It was immediately followed with five additional Truepress Jet520 sales to SCREEN customers: Moore DM Group, Prisma Graphics, FSSI and Wolverine Solutions Group. Champagne glasses were raised in celebration of each of those special occasions at SCREEN’s very popular, elbow-to-elbow packed exhibit in the commercial printing hall of the inaugural Printing United trade show.
The momentous occasion was saluted by SCREEN Americas’ president, Ken Ingram. Ingram applauded the entire SCREEN team for its efforts to make the company’s first appearance at Printing United so successful, with a special thank you to SGIA, NAPCO and the Printing United organization for staging such a well-attended and organized event.
“It is gratifying that SCREEN’s terrific technology is being recognized by a growing list of first class print service providers. Fifteen hundred Truepress Jet520 units is an incredible achievement and certainly testimony to the devices’ performance in the field. Our entire team in the US – from sales to services - has done a wonderful job demonstrating the quality of our technology and bringing printers together with the Truepress legacy,” Ingram said.
In addition to the attention surrounding the Truepress Jet520HD at the show, SCREEN’s Truepress JetL350UV+ digital UV inkjet label press was creating a big buzz among packaging printers and label converters. “The versatility and remarkable print quality achieved by the L350UV+ has set it apart from other inkjet options and certainly from FLEXO too,” Mark Schlimme, vice president marketing for SCREEN explained. “This technology is proving itself across the spectrum of packaging applications, substrates, and run lengths. And the industry is taking full notice of our success.”
Bringing the entire printing industry together under one roof was an ambitious undertaking for the maiden launch of Printing United. SCREEN Americas was the first company to sign up as an exhibitor and has been a strong advocate of the convergence of print given the same trend it sees among its customers.
“It goes without saying that commercial printers today are no longer bound by the limits of traditional offset or flexo printing. This trade show and SCREEN’s success itself in penetrating the mixed processes of printing companies is testimony that this convergence is real. We are proud to help lead the charge,” Schlimme added.
