Fetherman to Lead Muller Martini Digital Division for On Demand Printers
Press release from the issuing company
Hauppauge, New York (April 8, 2002) Muller Martini Corp. has launched a new Digital Finishing Division designed to bring professional binding capabilities to on demand, variable data and one-to-one workflows.
"One of the main reasons digital printing is not realizing its full potential is the lack of viable finishing solutions," says Andrew J. Fetherman, who was named Manager of the new division. "You can’t hook an office collator to a digital press and produce the type of quality print buyers expect. Our new division is adapting the proven technology from some of our high volume machines and scaling it to the digital workflow."
The division’s first product line - the AmigoDigital perfect binding system - has already been introduced. The new model incorporates the best features of the AmigoPlus and combines them with workflow components that allow digitally driven facilities to produce professional quality perfect bound books, online or nearline, for the first time.
"The creation of our new Digital Finishing Division is the latest example of our commitment to supporting the digital workflow," Fetherman notes. Fetherman was formerly Product Manager of Muller Martini’s Press Division. That post is now being held by Donald Geiger, who reports to Fred Jones, Manager of the Press Division at Muller Martini Corp.
