Printcafe Unveils Hagen OA 7.0 at IPEX

Releases New Version of Leading Print Management Solution Designed for European Commercial Print Market Birmingham, UK (9 April, 2002) – Printcafe Software, Inc., the operating system for print, today introduced Printcafe Hagen OA Version 7.0, a management information system that responds to the demands of the European commercial print market and is available in multiple languages currencies and taxation methods. Hagen OA will be demonstrated for the first time in Europe at the IPEX conference this week. Hagen OA, a leading enterprise solution for technology-driven commercial printing companies was first introduced in North America in 1997. Hagen OA integrates a robust, advanced accounting package with high-end applications for job management, purchasing, scheduling, inventory and fulfilment --- all custom designed for printing. Among Hagen’s largest customers is UK-based St. Ives who currently deploys Hagen in their US-based facilities. "Hagen OA 7.0 is extremely flexible," said Robert Berkeley, managing director of Printcafe Europe. "It is a multi-language, multi-platform, multi-division, multi-company solution that delivers the real-time status of the entire printing operation. It is a particularly attractive application for commercial printers with multiple printing facilities and remote locations." Hagen OA will be the first of Printcafe’s management systems to be fully implemented as part of the Networked Graphic Production initiative. Networked Graphic Production is a completely integrated environment that extends from the creative desktop to the delivery of the finished product, enabling a collaborative, integrated and optimized environment, from idea to delivery. Hagen OA features an integration module, Prepress Connector, based on JDF standards which connects to Creo’s Prinergy workflow product. Hagen OA utilizes a familiar Windows interface with browser-based applications for data collection, production monitoring and fulfilment and offering an unmatched range of integrated functionality over a wide and varied network. Hagen OA is built on the superior Progress relational database, making its SQL-based enterprise application scalable and secure across any client/server environment. A demonstration of the Hagen OA integration to Prinergy is being shown at the Printcafe and Creo stands at IPEX in Birmingham from 9-17 April at the NEC, Hall 4.
