Ultimate Announces its First OS X-Carbon Prepress App: IMPressX
Press release from the issuing company
At IPEX exhibition - Birmingham, UK. Ultimate Technographics will be the first prepress workflow provider to release an OS X imposition application: IMPressX. The world’s most widely used imposition software for On-demand and digital printing now supports OS X. Ultimate X was developed to run on the native OS X and will draw new benefits in speed and efficiency for the customers, while maintaining the same level of automation with its hot folder workflow.
Hot Folder Automation on OS X
Hot Folder Automation increases productivity with limited manual intervention: there is no need for the operator to launch the application nor to repeat the settings needed to process and to print a job. Users can simply preset imposition parameters, including routing files from one application to the next or to a printing device, whether it’s a proofer or a digital press. IMPress Hot Folder Automation is a one-step production process to reduce the prepress cost for print-on-demand shorter runs.
Origami virtual folding now Aqua
IMPress’s very popular virtual folding tool, Origami, that allows folding of the press sheet on screen, automatically placing the order and orientation of the pages according to the folds, will also be running on OS X. IMPress offers the convenience of automatic calculation of master layouts with Best Fit. The combination of Best Fit with Hot Folders means that the user drops his pages on the program and the job is automatically done, including automatic calculation of the imposition. This saves time and reduces errors by streamlining and automating the workflow for a variety of situations.
IMPressX is an ideal solution for owners of digital presses and small printing presses for an easy-to-use, low cost imposition solution that works on the operating system that will become the system of choice for most creative and production professionals. IMPressX is so easy to use creative and publishing professionals can do their own imposition and send fully imposed jobs to their print suppliers.
IMPress X runs on OS X as a fully carbonized version, with Aqua user interface. IMPressX is available for $1750, and to existing supported MAC users as an upgrade for $500.
