Press release from the issuing company
Toronto – Avanti Computer Systems Ltd, a leader in Print MIS solutions, today announced that three of its most recent innovations have been awarded the “Red Hots” award in conjunction with the PRINT 19 conference and exhibition. They will be displayed at the company’s PRINT 19 exhibit (#436) from October 3 through 5 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
“The development of Avanti Slingshot® always has been driven by the needs of our customers,” said Avanti President and CEO Patrick Bolan, “and each of these awards recognizes new functionality that came directly from our users.”
The first award addresses the profitable and fast-growing wide- and grand-format printing segment of the industry. As more and more print shops begin to offer wide- and grand-format applications, the need for a highly functional MIS has grown. In response, Avanti will announce at PRINT 19 that Slingshot now supports two popular wide-format raster-image processors (RIPs): ONYX 19 and Caldera.
Avanti Slingshot’s Advanced Fulfillment Workflow also has been recognized with a Red Hot award for its expanding functionality. The module now tracks expiration dates for inventory and flags outdated items for removal. Users also have the ability to be notified when stock drops below a pre-set threshold, to track and fulfill backorders and to identify pick charges on customer invoices.
Avanti Slingshot’s new XML Loader for Web-to-Print (W2P) also was recognized for its tight integration with third-party W2P platforms. The integration enables automatic data transfer between the W2P system and Avanti Slingshot, as well as shipping details such as status and tracking number to the W2P when the job is shipped through Avanti Slingshot. Re-keying information is no longer needed, reducing turnaround time and eliminating errors as a result.
