‘Quality is number one for us’
Hanover Park, Ill. – Impulse Graphic & Display Solutions Inc. has expanded its wide format portfolio with Fujifilm’s Acuity Ultra, a 5 meter (197”) superwide UV press featuring impressive cost-in-use for outputting high quality interior and exterior applications.
“We push the limits,” says Alex Cachia, president, Impulse Graphic & Display Solutions Inc. “We are a unique print service provider, with clients in various industries, including automotive, food service and pharmaceuticals that have high expectations; the Acuity Ultra has absolutely helped us within the sales process to win new opportunities.”
Fujifilm’s Acuity Ultra offers increased size and quality to make the production of high-end interior graphics much more profitable. The newest superwide UV printers from Fujifilm, the Acuity Ultra Series are available in a 3.2 meter (126”) and 5 meter version. Featuring impressive cost-in-use, Acuity Ultra gives print providers the power to profit from interior and exterior applications – where high-impact, near-photographic quality is required.
With a 3.5 pl drop size ensuring the highest possible quality, the grand format Acuity Ultra is ideal for the high-end indoor display market, especially for luxury brands, with quality equal to or better than litho or other wide format printers.
Impulse is outputting on a variety of substrates such as custom-made interior wallpaper, mesh, and fabric, with many jobs running three-up.
“Quality is number one for us,” adds Cachia. “We don’t sacrifice quality for anything. Previously we were limited to printing on mostly rigid substrates; and now with the Acuity Ultra, we are able to provide flexible grand format application options to our clients, and with regard to shipping and packing costs, we are able to offer them a significant savings with respect to lighter and more flexible substrates, which are also recyclable.”
With the 5 meter Acuity Ultra, Impulse has the capability to expand and broaden their client scope, and further add to their line-up of well-known brands, as they don’t have to rely on outsourcing and are able to maintain printing in-house, while experiencing smaller set-up costs and decreased prep-time.
“We are winning many new opportunities with the ‘robust’ Acuity Ultra, making Impulse a unique print service provider due to the massive format size, multi-roll options and impressive speed,” said Cachia. “The Acuity Ultra gives Impulse the ability to profitably create exhibition graphics, point-of-purchase displays, high-value graphic art, and indoor backlit displays. Without question, the print quality of the Acuity Ultra stands out from any potential competitor in this segment.”
Given their location in Mississauga, Canada, near Toronto, outdoor ice rinks are plentiful, and Impulse is prepared to offer their services accordingly.
“We have developed a strong business base within the local ice rinks by printing onto flexible media that is installed directly into the ice, and the five meter output off the Acuity Ultra reduces installation time and costs,” adds Cachia.
With regard to Impulse’s hospitality and food service clients, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) impact on indoor air quality was a regular topic of conversation prior to installing their Acuity Ultra.
“With our previous press, we had to let the rolls sit for upwards of two days, due to the strong odors” says Cachia. “With the Acuity Ultra, we no longer have that lengthy delay in production.”
Fujifilm’s commitment to environmental responsibility has been recognized through achieving UL GREENGUARD® certification for its Uvijet GS range of inks. GREENGUARD helps manufacturers create, and customers choose, interior products that support healthy indoor environments through low chemical emissions. Certification means that a product has been rigorously tested and shown to have low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
“Like any business leader, I rely on a great combination of talent and technology. I am blessed with a great staff and we all live and breathe within the print industry. The addition of the Acuity Ultra enables us to meet and exceed our client’s expectations, job after job,” said Cachia.
