KBA has set another milestone in its continuing commitment to Asia with the recent opening of its Singapore sheetfed office/Service facility. Koenig & Bauer already holds a commanding presence in Singapore with its range of web offset and newspaper presses and is poised to duplicate this success with its leading brand of Rapida sheetfed offset presses from small to large formats. Although KBA has been present in Singapore and South East Asia for years via independent dealers, the need to align itself with the growing Singapore and Malaysia printing industries has always been paramount in its future plans to service and support this growing and expanding business. KBA presently has several exciting projects coming up. Following on from its recent successes with Star Standard Industries and Grace Communications in Singapore KBA expects to announce more sales in the coming months. “It’s very much about being here to support our customers with service and back up should the need arise. To cater for this we have Ralf Liebe, a German KBA engineer permanently based in Singapore, who has been involved with KBA in Asia for the past ten years, travelling extensively and looking after our growing installation base. We are also on the recruitment path and will increase our service staff over the coming months,” commented Fiebiger. KBA follows a proactive service strategy with a comprehensive maintenance program in place for each machine sold. The service operation includes 24 hours service to cater for customers’ needs with spare parts, service man power and assistance in remote maintenance. The new office is located ten minutes from Singapore’s Changi airport and 20 minutes from most printing companies across the island. In addition, it is only a short hop across the causeway that separates both Singapore and Malaysia to all the printing companies that stretch from Johor to Malacca, the famous historic city that has a history that dates back centuries as a Portuguese trading port. All sheetfed machinery will be represented out of the new Singapore office, including the leading large format presses up to the 8B size, which is the world’s largest sheetfed offset press to date.
