The BoxMaker, a leading US manufacturer of digitally printed packaging solutions, has been awarded G7 certification with its HP PageWide C500 digital corrugated press operating at its site alongside a fleet of HP large-format digital printers.

The HP PageWide C500 press at The BoxMaker is the first in the world to achieve G7 certification from Idealliance, leading the industry in setting standards for visual similarity across print processes.

The BoxMaker installed the HP PageWide C500 in late 2018 at its manufacturing headquarters just outside of Seattle, Washington.

“Achieving G7 Certification means our presses have been calibrated to consistently achieve color outputs that meet the G7 industry standard for color accuracy. The standards require colors match throughout the entire design and printing process, even across multiple printing devices,” said Richard Brown, President, The BoxMaker.

The G7 System Certification Program evaluates the ability of a software system to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 grayscale balance.

The HP PageWide C500’s unique Corrugated Grip combined with HP Thermal Inkjet technology using 1200 npi printing, enables converters to meet G7 certification for color accuracy and consistency.

“With the validation from G7, The BoxMaker clients can be confident that from run to run, final packaging or display product will be true to color, every time,” Brown said.

The addition of the industrial-scale HP PageWide C500 Press builds on The BoxMaker experience with high-value corrugated display and high-graphic retail packaging production using its fleet of HP Scitex presses.
