BEDFORD, MA, July 16, 2002 – PGI (Polaroid Graphics Imaging LLC), with the cooperation of the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), has installed an award winning PolaProof 1420 Digital Halftone Proofing System at the Dunwoody Technical College in Minneapolis, MN. Leading Flexographic College Dunwoody Technical College, recently awarded the "College of the Year 2002" at the FFTA Forum, is one of the top flexographic educational institutions in the United States. This is evidenced by the number of awards recently given to its students at the FFTA Forum 2002 in Washington, DC in May. Joe Tuccitto, Flexographic Instructor at Dunwoody, states, "We are excited to have the opportunity to work with PGI and its highly regarded digital halftone proofer. The flexography industry, with its unique technology and shift towards CTP, has a need for this type of system. The PolaProof 1420 allows us to educate our students on digital proofing and gives them an advantage as they move into the workforce." Mr. Tuccitto, College Flexographic Instructor of the Year 2001, has over 20 years in the industry. Testing New Technologies Through the assistance of the FTA, the Dunwoody Technical College was recommended to PGI. Having made great strides in the flexographic market, PGI was looking for a reputable institution that could not only use a digital proofer for education, but would also work closely with them on projects and testing of new technologies in flexography. FIRST Color Certification The first joint project to be initiated by Dunwoody and PGI will be the FIRST color certification for PolaProof Digital Halftone Proofing System. This effort will enable further confidence to the flexographic market for the use of PolaProof for their high-end proofing needs. Additionally, further projects have been scheduled that will continue to enhance the value proposition of the PolaProof product line in the flexographic market. The combination of the educational resources available at Dunwoody and the technology offering from PGI will place them in a strong position to bring new opportunities to the flexographic market.
