Press release from the issuing company
Copresco Production Manager Lynn Buck has been recognized as an inspirational woman in the printing industry by Print+Promo, a national magazine that serves printing distributors. She was one of 15 women honored for her exemplary work in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Buck joined Copresco, a Chicago area digital printing firm, in 1997 as a production coordinator. “With her self-confidence and ‘can-do’ attitude, plus her experience, I knew she’d fit perfectly into Copresco’s Copies Overnight culture of fast turnaround times and digital production workflow,” recalls Copresco president Steve Johnson.
She was promoted to production manager in 2006 and is now responsible for Copresco’s shop floor and the production of millions of pages of publications, books and manuals. She oversees all facets of the book manufacturing process, including estimating, prepress, digital printing, binding, shipping, warehousing and fulfillment operations.
When asked what brings joy in the work she does, Buck says, “Knowing that our customers can drop their jobs into our hands and not have to worry if their demanding deadlines will be met and the quality they expect will be delivered. It is rewarding to work with a staff that is dedicated to turning out beautiful digital printing on short, sometimes ‘Mission Impossible’ turnaround times.”
Buck is committed to maintaining the same high level of productivity and continued professional growth in the years ahead. “Copresco is constantly adding new equipment and services which allow me to expand my knowledge base and pass on new techniques to our staff,” she concluded.
Copresco’s short-run digital printing projects range from booklets, catalogs, handbooks, textbooks and technical materials to training aids, guidebooks, newsletters, calendars and cookbooks.
