Chantilly, Va. – Contex, the world leader in large format scanning, today announces that the HD Ultra X scanner series has significantly exceeded Q1 sales expectations. Many new and existing customers are leveraging the technology’s advanced scanning capabilities and value the substantial productivity gains that the HD Ultra X provides. Reprographic shops in particular are rolling out the HD Ultra X to multiple locations, utilizing the custom scanning settings of the Nextimage scanning software to ensure consistent, high-quality results in every facility.

“Customers are just blown away with the capabilities of the HD Ultra X scanner series, and the number of orders has exceeded our expectations,” comments Steve Blanken, General Manager, Contex Americas. “We see this trend continuing as the market embraces the HD Ultra X as the new standard in large format scanning." He adds, "With its innovative design and engineering, the HD Ultra X is one of the most technologically advanced scanners with the greatest return on investment.”

The HD Ultra X scanner series is regarded as the new standard in large format scanning. The scanners are used to capture array of large format documents including CAD and engineering drawings, artwork, maps, and more, at an unprecedented 17.8 ips. The HD Ultra X includes several unique features and productivity boosters, including true size detection and instant-ON capabilities, which cut valuable seconds from production time. A throttle buffer control also eliminates scanner pauses, allowing operators to continuously feed documents without waiting for scanned data to be processed.

The HD Ultra X scanner series exceeds Energy Star consumption standards, and is RoHS compliant. Additionally, the LED light source, guaranteed to last the scanner’s lifetime, saves energy by automatically turning off in between scans.

The HD Ultra X scanners series is available in 36-, 42-, and 60-inch models, as stand-alone (Contex AIO optional) or a ScanStation Pro configuration, which includes a stand, touchscreen monitor, and Nextimage REPRO software (Contex AIO optional). The HD Ultra X scanners can be networked to any leading printer.
