Press release from the issuing company
Kennesaw, Ga. – AMP Printing of Dublin, California expects to cut costs and shorten turnaround times while maintaining their industry-leading quality with their new Versafire EP from Heidelberg.
A New Standard of Quality
Exclusively using Heidelberg equipment, AMP Printing’s new Versafire EP is running alongside two other Versafire machines, a Suprasetter A 106, a Speedmaster XL 106-5+LYY-P-5+L with Inpress Control powered by Prinect and four POLAR cutters. As one of the highest quality print shops in Northern California, AMP Printing takes great pride in their ability to match critical colors across a spectrum of output devices whether printing with digital, offset, or grand format.
Replacing an older Versafire press, AMP Printing’s Versafire EP will take their quality to another level. Printing with an image quality resolution of 4,800 x 2,400 dpi and a new toner formula, the Versafire EP is the perfect press to impress their customers, while also maintaining high throughput and reliable production.
According to Jeff Main, President of AMP Printing, “While our existing equipment was meeting our customers’ expectations for quality, the Versafire EP produces an absolutely spectacular finished product. Flat tints are smooth and halftones images can print clean and reliably even with sensitive subjects like facial tones.”
Reduce Costs and Shorten Turnaround Times with Industry Leading Quality
Running at speeds up to 115 and 135 letter pages per minute, AMP Printing expects the Versafire EP to increase their productivity due to the advanced technology on the machine, including the automatic high-precision inline registration, which actively controls every sheet so that they are steered and adjusted automatically.
“The automatic high-precision inline registration ensures perfect front-to-back image register, which makes it easy to dial things in,” said Main. “The sheet-to-sheet registration is super tight— just last week we ran a job with a tri-fold, so the image from the front panel could not bleed over to the reverse side. After folding, every sheet was perfect.”
The camera system on the Versafire EP calibrates the engine automatically by measuring the registration target, feeding it back in the machine, and setting it up. Additionally, the digital press prints up to 13” x 49” sheets and up to 13” x 27.5” sheets — supporting 24 point stock plus a variety of synthetics.
“The new Versafire will help us cut costs and shorten turnaround times, without sacrificing quality,” said Main. “The old adage that you never get all three has ceased to apply.”
