Precision Label Launches Digital Silver Ink Production with New HP Indigo 6900 Press

Press release from the issuing company

Precision Label Corporation, a New York-based converter serving major cosmetic brands, is expanding its digital production capabilities with the addition of breakthrough HP Indigo silver ink and an HP Indigo 6900 Digital Press.

The new HP Indigo ElectroInk Silver, now commercially available, delivers digitally printed metallic effects across a wide color gamut.

"We are getting excellent results printing fine type and vignettes in silver and can produce virtually any metallic color by printing process colors over the silver,” said Angelo Quagliata, Vice President Sales at Precision Label. “Digitally printed silver ink is a big plus for our customers who want digital printing benefits without compromising on metallic effects, especially cosmetics companies that need a higher-end look.”

The high-performance HP Indigo 6900, installed recently at Precision’s new $7.5 million, 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, in Hauppauge, on Long Island New York, also increases digital capacity for the converter’s expanding printing business.

Since installing its first HP Indigo in 2012, Precision’s business has grown to some 40% digital, as it takes advantage of HP Indigo digital for quality-sensitive jobs, unlimited variable data capabilities, and plate savings. The HP Indigo 6900, replacing an HP Indigo WS6000, is operating alongside its HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press.

“As Precision continues to grow and prove ourselves as a leader in the labels and packaging industry, we will continue to re-invest in the company with state-of-the-art technology,” added Quagliata. “Digitally printed metallic colors also support our business strategy of delivering high quality with fast turnaround, while reducing costs and use of metalized materials."

The HP Indigo 6900 Digital Press boosts addressable applications for the digital label market, powered with a new-generation RIP for up to five times faster data processing for security and variable data printing.

Founded in 1990, the family-owned company owned and directed by Brad Cohn and Rick Cohn currently employs 40 with plans to expand its workforce in the new site over next two years. The industries served by Precision include cosmetics, health and beauty, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and more.
