CMYK Distributors Installs InkZone Ink Presets and Closed-Loop Color Control at Just-Us Printers in Springdale, Ark.

Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, Mass. – CMYK Distributors, Inc. today announces the installation of InkZone Ink-Presets and Closed-Loop color control technology at Just-Us Printers, a family-owned commercial print and packaging firm serving the needs of the Arkansas’ business community for nearly 40 years. Just-Us Printers’ services include wide-format, packaging, offset and digital printing, vehicle wraps, race wraps, and fulfillment. They employ 36 people at their 37,000 square foot facility in northeastern Springdale.

Just-Us Printers’ exemplifies the pioneering spirit of Springdale, home to their business operations and winning city of the 2018 Arkansas Trend Setter Award. With their eye on the future and a finger on the pulse of the commercial print and packaging industries, Just-Us Printers decided to invest in InkZone Ink-Presets and Closed-Loop color control technology to firmly establish themselves as a leader in the packaging industry. Having launched their packaging capabilities in January 2018, Just-Us Printers recognized the competitive advantage of InkZone as a tool for increasing their capacity to control color and to measure and monitor the quality of their work.

“We’ve only been using the InkZone solution for about a month, but we are already realizing measurable benefits,” said Brett Justus, President of Just-Us Printers. “We are seeing a significant reduction in color variation during the print run and from job-to-job. In addition, our makeready waste is down 30%, on average. While reducing makeready was not a driving factor in our decision to invest in InkZone, with these results, we are on course to realize a return on our investment much faster than we anticipated.”

The InkZone solution at Just-Us Printers features an X-Rite IntelliTrax spectral scanner for measuring the color bar now with standard M0/M1, M0/M3 or M1/M3 with a small aperture for color bars that have patches greater than 2.0mm in height x 3.0mm in width. By measuring a color bar, the collected data is sent directly into the InkZone Loop software to automate the process. This brings consistent color process control to the printed job. The X-Rite IntelliTrax comes standard with the Pantone digital library.

According to Mr. Justus, “The pharmaceutical industry is our packaging business’ largest customer-base. With the combined forces of InkZone and Intellitrax, we can provide our pharma clients with exceptional quality. We now have the technology and tools to print folding cartons, as well as packaging inserts, with precise color consistency across the varying substrates of carton and peripheral materials.”

He continues, “InkZone is a comprehensive color control solution that is helping us to streamline our workflow and to reduce wasted time and materials. I cannot speak highly enough about the solution or the level of training and customer support that we are receiving from CMYK Distributors. Thanks to the CMYK team, we had the immediate buy-in of our pressroom operators and my staff grows more confident in their use of the system each day.”
