Speakers and Program Confirmed for SGP Community Day 2018 Conference in Cincinnati Ohio

Press release from the issuing company

Industry leaders will speak to leading printers and brands on sustainability in retail, textiles, event graphics, and more at the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership's annual event

Sayville, N.Y. – The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the leading authority in sustainable printing certifications for print manufacturers, has announced its full program of events and speakers for SGP Community Day 2018, taking place in Cincinnati on November 14th.

As previously announced, Ryan Mooney-Bullock of Cincinnati's Green Umbrella will be the keynote speaker. Her presentation, "Building a Community: The Heart and Engine of Sustainability," will be followed by four panels, a session of roundtable discussions, and multiple networking breaks.

Each panel will focus on the state of sustainability in one of four industries: instore retail, plastics and packaging, textiles, and events and building graphics. Panelists include:

  • Libra Balian, Retail Marketing Consultant/Chair, SGP Brand Leader Committee
  • Rosalyn Bandy, Environmental Director, Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute
  • David McLain, Market Development Manager, Printpack
  • Ashley Hood-Morley, Director, Sustainability, Plastics Industry Association
  • Paul Glynn, Manager of Operations & Services, Designtex
  • Mike Compton, Product Marketing Manager, Top Value Fabrics
  • Joe Stapley, National Accounts Manager, Noble Environmental Technologies
  • Marci Kinter, Vice President - Government & Business Information, Specialty Graphic Industry Association

Speakers are excited to share their stories and experience with Community Day participants. David McLain of Printpack said, "I'm looking forward to sharing our story and learning from others. The amount of attention on our industry seems to be growing daily, and the only path forward is coming together to understand the challenges, cast a compelling vision of the future, and then collaborate to achieve that vision."

"It is one thing to meet people at a conference and another to spend the day with them interacting in a collaborative environment," said speaker Joe Stapley of Noble Environmental Technologies, "I am consistently impressed with the quality of attendees for SGP Community Days. I learn more from this event than from most other industry events."

In between panels, Community Day participants will engage in roundtable discussions on various sustainability and industry topics. Doreen Monteleone, SGP Board Member, Flexographic Technical Association, explains, "Each roundtable will focus on a different topic and attendees can join in the discussions that are most relevant to their situation. We often build on what we learned in the presentations and walk away with practical action items."

Community Day will wrap up with an invitation-only gala dinner celebrating SGP's 10th Anniversary.
